All my new toys!

On Christmas Day we packed everything up and headed back to Gretna so that Avery could open her gifts from Santa.

She's a natural...

The Little People Farmhouse was by far the biggest hit that day.

She has a new pink cell phone just like Mommy.

She loves the activity table from Grandma & Grandpa Adams.

Alex and I got her a Cabbage Patch for Christmas. When we opened up the birth certificate that comes with it, we couldn't stop laughing. Her name is Una Bennie. She has blonde hair and blue eyes....maybe she's Swedish!?!?!

Cabbage Patch dolls and Pound Puppies - the toys of my childhood have come full circle.

She hasn't quite figured out the piggy bank yet.

Taking a much needed nap after opening all those presents.

Even Hank got new toys!

I couldn't resist taking this picture :)

We meet at last!

One of my dearest friends, Jessica Samson was back in town for the holidays and finally got to meet Avery. She lives in Los Angeles and hasn't been back since last Christmas. Her and Avery were instant girlfriends. :)

Nicole was also back for the holidays and the 4 of us got together on Christmas Eve morning for coffee and catching up. We had also gotten to hang out with Nicole a few days earlier in Omaha.

Hansen Family Christmas

We spent Christmas Eve back in SSC celebrating with the Hansen side of our family. It has become sort of a tradition to have my parents come over after their church service to have pie and coffee. I love the fact that Avery gets to spend Christmas Eve with all of her Grandparents together in one place! It was also nice to have them there to take this Hansen family picture for us. A few early presents - Keller brought over one of his favorite toys from when he was a baby and told us that he wanted Avery to have it to play with at her house. Avery absolutely loves this house, especially the mailbox and the doorbell. Thank you so much Keller! Brandon & Carrie, Doug's oldest son and his wife, gave Avery a Pound Puppy for Christmas. That was so nice of them! Hank did such a good job this Christmas. Everyone got a kick out of him sitting so patiently waiting for us to let him open his gifts. hurry up Dad... Avery fell asleep after dinner, so opening presents was a little delayed. This does not look like a baby who is ready to open presents. Keller opening his gifts. Avery playing with her activity table from Grandma & Grandpa.

What a good doggy!

I am posting this picture as proof that Hank is a good boy. This is the 1st Christmas that he has left the tree skirt alone - he didn't even drag it out from under the tree once this year. Our little boy is finally growing up. :)

Picture with Santa

Santa Claus came to visit Avery's daycare last Friday, so I got her all dressed up in her Christmas dress and took her there to get her picture taken. As you can see, she reacted just as most babies her age do....she screamed bloody murder.

When Avery started screaming I got a bit flustered and obviously couldn't hold my hand steady enough for this picture to turn out.

Videos

These are some random videos that we have taken of Avery over the last few months. She is growing up so fast and I am treasuring every day that I get to spend at home with her waching her grow and learn new things.

Very ticklish

Avery's new favorite toy is the end table in our living room. I took this video a few weeks ago, and she hasn't stopped climbing on it since. The baby that you hear in the background is Ryder - he came over to play that day and I am almost sure he ended up teaching Avery a few new tricks...like climbing under the end table when mommy blocks you in the living room with the carseat. :-)

Avery started crawling on her knees this weekend and Mommy and Daddy were both lucky enough to be there when it happened. The Christmas tree and other decorations were great motivation for sure.

Thanks for a great birthday Alex!

Alex gave me some very beautiful earings for my Birthday/Christmas gift, and Avery loved them just as much as Mommy! She loves to play with them while they are in my ears too - Ouch!

Alex also made a huge sacrifice and took me to PF Chang's for my birthday dinner. He's gotten sick the last 2 times we've eaten there and swore he would never go back. Thankfully, he didn't get sick this time!

Avery got to sit in a big girl booster seat between Mommy and Daddy. She couldn't get enough of the fried rice.

Daddy inspecting the rice to make sure it was safe.

Crazy Hair

We're just thankful there is finally enough there to look crazy :-)

9 Months Old!

All bundled up and ready to go to the doctor last Friday. Her 9 month stats were - 17 lbs 8oz (25th%) and 27 1/2 inches tall(50th%).

Finally All Caught Up

First of all, I must apologize to those of you who have been checking the blog regularly for updates. One would think that working for the family business and staying home with Avery part-time would allow me more time to post updates, but unfortunately the blog has suffered from neglect over these last few months. Honestly, I think that a huge part of it was that I liked having the blog to look at while I was at work and away from her all day. So naturally, now that I am home with her there wasn't as big of a priority to keep it updated...or so I thought. In recent weeks, many of our faithful blog followers have voiced their concerns and I have promised to be more dedicated to keeping you all up to speed on What's Happening with the Hansen's.

So, I hope you have a few minutes...cuz there is a lot of catching up to do. :) Enjoy!

Got Milk?

Daddy let Avery have a sip of his milk at dinner the other night and she LOVED it! I couldn't help but snap a few pics of her with her little milk mustache.
